Driver came in with his 2008 Chevy Express 2500 with a check engine light on. Can shut off for couple minutes and it wil shift fine for about 10 minutes. Recently had code P0894, the trans shifts fine through all 4 gears, no slipping except it will shift hard (which is the fail safe mode from what I understand). I have been searching past 2 days with mixed answers. In the later stages the transmission will get hot, even give a warning signal in the odometer display.1- Faulty shift solenoid valve SLT ( it may need to disassembly the gearbox to check the valves) 2- Shift solenoid valve harness is open or shorted ( check the harness and switches) regarding to the second code P0756 means shift solenoid B performance which highlighted that the transmission level is low or dirty.
